Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Ustaz Hago Gism Al-Saeed reviewed at his office this morning the role of the Parliament in terms of following- up important issues such as unity, peace and that of the upcoming Referendum era. This has been discussed during his meeting with Elizabeth Belton, political expert and the envoy of the commission for Evaluation and Reform. Hago assured the envoy of the Assembly’s concern of such issues, pointing to the formulation of the Assembly of a high Emergency Committee so as to follow up the on going political work and enlightening citizens on unity, Referendum and the peace issue.
Mrs. Elizabeth urged the two partners to be cognizant of the Canadian experience of referendum which had been a success, where it has become a unified country, instead of being satellite countries for the US and France.
On the other hand, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly has praised the on going Parliamentary co-operation between Sudan and Canada, particularly in the field of training and enhancing human abilities.
