Parliamentary Delegation to Visit Juba Next Week

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Security and Defense Committee at the National Assembly Mr. Mohammed Hassan Al-Amin Met in Khartoum with the Ambassador of South Sudan State. The two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the importance of developing them in all fields. Mr. A-amin praised the strong relations that bind the two peoples, when the two sides discussed aspects of cooperation in various fields and promote common interests in the political, economic, social and service, and the importance of overcoming obstacles to the achievement of those interests, particularly in regional and international forums, that serve the people of both countries.

Al-Tahir to Appreciate Russia’s Firm Stances towards Sudan

Speaker of the National Assembly Ustaz/ Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Tahir has discussed the various facts of economic cooperation between Sudan and Russia. This came during his meeting with the Russian Ambassador at his office this morning Al-Tahir praised the unique political relation between the two countries, pointing to Russia’s firm stances with Sudan. Al-Tahir assured the importance of promoting the bilateral economic relations, saying that the most compensating elements is the political and security stability which has been enjoyed now by Sudan, following war halt- age and easing of tensions. He invited Russia to engage in infrastructures’ projects. Also Al-Tahir has invited the Russian parliament to visit Sudan in order to push forward the two countries Parliamentary relations.

Private Education Workshop Recommends the Parliament to Adopt Issuance Articles Deal with its Problems

The Committee of Education and Scientific Research of the National Assembly, in coordination with the Ministry of Education and the Federation of Private Schools in Khartoum State organized a workshop on “the role of private education in the supporting public education”. The two-day Workshop in which concluded today, recommended the importance of the adoption of the national initiative for the issuance of an act dealing with the problems that have accompanied the experience of private education. One of those problems are to develop mechanisms to maximize the contribution of the private sector in support public education, and address the lack of regulatory environment for the private sector and correct misconceptions about it, and work to control private schools.

National Assembly Refers the Statement of the Ministry of Defence to Defence Committee

The National Assembly referred, in its sitting today, the statement of the Ministry of Defence, which was submitted to the National Assembly by the Minister of Defence. The sitting was chaired by Deputy Speaker Ms. Samia Ahmed, who referred the statement the concerned committee. The statement, presented by the Defence Minister Lieutenant General (staff) Engineer Abdulrahim Hussain, tackled security situations in different parts of the country, including Darfur, South Kordofan and South Blue Nile, stressing the need for supporting police to secure towns and localities. The Minister referred in the statement to stability and security in big towns of South Kordofan and provision of security for petroleum pipes and mining, particularly gold, and development projects. In this regard he commended the role being played by the popular Defence, and assured the need for securing Sudan-South Sudan borders, which will result in good relations between both countries.
